Skating in the Park
Dec. 18 - Jan. 3 | 4 to 9 p.m.
Join the Huntsville Museum of Art for its eighth annual Skating in the Park. Skate on the outdoor rink in Big Spring Park and enjoy special events throughout the season. Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 4 to 9 p.m., Friday 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 12 to 8 p.m. Admission and rental: $15 for ages 10 and up; $10 for ages 9 and under; $13 for groups of 10 or more; $5 scooter rental; $5 discount if you bring your own skates. www.huntsvillemuseum.org
Sanders Family Christmas Play at Burritt on the Mountain
Dec. 18-21 at 7 p.m.; Dec. 21-22 at 2:30 p.m.
The Sanders Family is back in Sanders Family Christmas. Southern Rogue Theatre Company and Burritt on the Mountain pair together to bring this traditional favorite to the community. Conceived by Alan Bailey and penned by Connie Ray, this famous sequel of Smoke on the Mountain returns to the Old Country Church at Burritt on the Mountain. Online ticket sales end two hours before showtime.

Winter Solstice Artist Market at Lowe Mill
Dec. 21 | 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Barking Dog Arts will be partnering with Lowe Mill to extend out the Winter Solstice Market to the entire second floor. Vendor applications can be submitted online through www.barkingdogarts.com, or in-person in Studio 261 and Studio 272.
Skate with Santa at Huntsville Ice Complex
Dec. 21 | 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus are making a stop at the rink before his big night out. Stop by for a fun day of skating with Santa, decorating cookies with Mrs. Claus, and building a snowman with Santa's elves. Admission charged. Holiday Magic coupon available at Downtown Visitors Center.
Willowbrook’s Christmas Eve at Milton Frank
Dec. 24 | 5 to 6 p.m.
Gather on Christmas Eve for carols and a short Christmas message, topped off with an unforgettable fireworks show. Come early for hot chocolate. No admission charged.

Mars Masquerade on New Year's Eve
U.S. Space & Rocket Center

Ring in the New Year under the Saturn V moon rocket at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s Davidson Center for Space Exploration. The party starts Dec. 31, at 8 p.m., and the “Flashbacks Show Band” takes the stage at 8:30 p.m., with favorites from early Motown to today’s hits. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be available from 8 until 10 p.m., and bars will be open until 1 a.m. Enjoy a celebratory complimentary champagne toast at midnight.
