Huntsville is partying like it’s 1969 with all of its upcoming Apollo 50th Anniversary celebrations. Not only is space the place to celebrate, but there are also many other ways to enjoy Rocket City this summer.

Apollo 50th Anniversary Celebration | Rockets on Parade

Rockets on Parade is a way to note Huntsville’s ongoing contributions to the American space program with designs specific to Rocket City, monumental achievements of the Apollo program and the future of space travel or through unique artistic expression. Rocket City Summer Fest -- All Access Pass
July 13-20
The All Access Pass includes admission to the Town Hall Brunch, Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner, unlimited access to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center for the week, unlimited shows in the National Geographic Theater and INTUITIVE® Planetarium, building and launching rockets, a night at Yellowhammer Brewing and Campus 805, Space Camp behind-the-scenes tour with Astronaut Unplugged, and the concert in the shadow of Saturn V replica. The 50th Anniversary Pass includes a seat at the Homecoming Celebration on Tuesday, July 16, plus all the other activities of the basic All Access Pass. Quantities are limited. rocketcenter.com.

Guinness Book of World Record: Rocket Launch

Join the U.S. Space & Rocket Center as it launches 5,000 Estes rockets on the exact launch time of the Apollo 11 mission, 8:32 a.m. CT. The Space & Rocket Center hopes to set a new Guinness World Record. Limited seating opens at 7 a.m. All rockets will be launched by Rocket Center staff. www.rocketcenter.com.

Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Dancing in the Streets

On July 19, 1969, Huntsvillians gathered downtown to celebrate the Apollo 11 moon landing. Relive that glory day by joining space enthusiasts as they dance in the streets once again. Musical performances themed to the last five decades will take place on each side of the Historic Downtown Square. There will be a projection experience to end the evening and inspire the latest endeavor of space exploration. Downtown Exclusives signature cocktails will be available at many establishments. Moon Landing Concert

Celebrate the anniversary of the day Neil Armstrong took his historic first step on the Moon at the Rocket City Summer Fest Concert at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Huntsville will join with celebrations around the world to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Mission with a concert in the shadow of Huntsville’s iconic Saturn V replica. The Black Jacket Symphony presents "Party of the Year,” playing hits from the 1960s to today. This is Black Jacket Symphony’s answer to the party band, and the concert experience includes videos, full concert lighting, and a high-energy performance. www.rocketcenter.com.
